X-Files to X-Rays? The CIA, remote viewing and healthcare.

Psychoenergetics and remote viewing – new healthcare “technology”? Part II.

From part I:  On January 9, 2017, the US Central Intelligence Agency released hundreds of declassified documents describing the results of years of telepathic experimentation, Project Star Gate.  The mission of Project StarGate was to “establish a program using psychoenergetics for intelligence applications” to train personnel in remote viewing, to establish procedures to collect intelligence information from remote viewing, and to establish a mechanism to respond to intelligence collected using these methods.

Part II: So what?

And healthcare? How does this relate?
There may well be medical applications for remote viewing.  The Dean of the British Institute of Homeopathy, Andrew Usher, is working to determine if remote viewing can be used to help detect disease.  The Telegraph reports while Usher says remote viewers have had surprising success in picking up on “big pathology” such as growths, he is realistic about the limitations of involving medical non-professionals. “It is hard for remote viewers to pick up cellular structures and changes,” he says. Training doctors to be remote viewers has also proved problematic, as “they tend to second-guess diagnoses”.

Perhaps nurses would be better equipped to tap into remote viewing?
Theresa Frisch, RN and Controlled Remote Viewing instructor, links the concept of nursing intuition to remote viewing.  She states that “Nightingale was a mystic and so am I. Nightingale, as many others, declined to talk about her spiritual or mystical experiences. I never did either, except in whispers to trusted friends as I looked for other people with similar experiences.” Ms. Frisch describes how remote viewing and use of the parapsychological  phenomenon of extra-sensory perception, or intuition, has aided her in identifying patient illnesses in the emergency department.  Ms. Frisch’s business site, Aesthic Impact, contains several of her personal accounts of her own remote viewing sessions.

What say the nursing and medical researchers (ahem, skeptics)?
A search of CINAHL nursing journal database using the terms “remote viewing”, “controlled remote viewing”, “nursing” and “remote viewing”, “telepathy”, “parapsychology”,  and”anomalous experiences” produced no results.
(N.B.  Somewhat confusingly,  Remote Nursing Certified Practice, is a body of knowledge which describes standards for appropriate telehealth  practice for Canadian nurses caring for patients at a distance.)
Searching OVID, a medical publication database, with similar terms revealed no articles pertaining to the application of remote viewing in healthcare.  Several articles were listed which questioned the reliability of data collected and analyzed in psychic experimentation. For example, R. Hyman, a professor in the Department of Psychology at University of Oregon writes in the journal Experientia, 1988:

“Parapsychological research falls short of the professed standards of the field. The available reports (on remote viewing) indicate that randomization is often inadequate, multiple statistical testing without adjustment for significance levels is prevalent, possibilities for sensory leakage are not uniformly prevented, error in use of statistical tests are much too common and documentation is typically inadequate. .. claims should be methodologically adequate before the claims are taken seriously.”

So maybe I could remote view?
Who knows? Maybe. Information gained from Project Grill Frame suggests that a large percentage of the population has the ability to remotely view.  The 1988 report Mass Screening of People for Psychoenergetic Talent Using A Remote Viewing Task revealed that of 196 people screened, three demonstrated skill in remote viewing.  In this data set, that’s about 1.5% of people screened. That’s better than the odds of being hit by lightening.

There’s a lot of information on how to teach yourself to “remote view”. In Higgins and La Tourette’s self-help course, Silva Ultramind’s Remote Viewing and Remote Influencing,  “you can detect health problems and threats to your health, and then take action both physically and mentally – with Remote Influencing – to protect your health or restore and maintain optimum health for yourself and your loved one..”

Sounds good!

Do UFOs fascinate you? Are you a history buff who wants to learn more about the Bay of Pigs, Vietnam or the A-12 Oxcart? Have stories about spies always fascinated you? You can find information about all of these topics and more in the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Electronic Reading Room.”
